What mother nature teaches us

Nature begs us to trust the process.

By Missy Enaje

I started growing a memorial garden on behalf of my daughter. My sweet friend Amy and her family bought the perfect, blue solar butterfly light to complement this journey. She even gave me a bag filled with wildflower seeds. I was so excited to tend to this project and see where it lead.

I did my best to prep the area, rip out the weeds, and plant the seeds. Weeks later, what came about was this vine plant that I had no clue I put in the soil. But also, tons and tons of what I thought were weeds!

I didn't know if I should've ripped them out the soil and I contemplated about it for some time. I wanted to get advice from true plant enthusiasts, but for whatever reason, I couldn't. I just decided to be patient and watch how this plant would grow. I'll admit, my ego was not helping me by reminding me how this could've been a weed.

I trusted my intuition. You can see the photo of the flower, well that's the one! That's the lesson: trust the process, observe, be patient and follow your instinct. Don't miss out on an opportunity to bloom, to grow, to reveal the mystery and wonder of life.
